This is a random sampling of Ontario educator’s blogs and blog posts that may be of interest to course participants. These are not in any specific order of appearance, so let serendipity and imagination lead you into the exploration. You’ll realize the importance of a blog name and blog post titles that can ‘hook’ a reader into your story. Where possible, I’ve also linked to the author’s Twitter account, so you can use this to build your PLN (professional learning network).

- Mr. C’s Shares Ease blog site by Peter Cameron is filled with posts that are relevant to educators.
- Living Avivaloca: My Many Musings on Life and Learning by Aviva Dunsinger is a model for a domain of your own, WordPress blogging, and how conversations happen using the comments on a blog.
- Teaching as a Creative Act is a blog post by Brandon Pachan. This is also a model for new teacher/bloggers on how to write an ‘about’ section and to take on the challenge of blogging as a new teacher – read the first post “Yes, And …” as you reflect on your own blogging challenges.
- We Need Cellphones in Class Because They are Distracting by Andrew Campbell on his blog site Looking Up
- The Enthusiastic Learner is a blog site by Allison Fuisz. Be sure to check out her ‘About’ section.
- This Week in Ontario EduBlogs is a weekly compilation and reflection about blog posts created by Ontario educators on topics that catch the attention of Doug Peterson, an edu-tech-advocate in the Ontario education landscape. This will introduce you to current topics and bloggers in Ontario.
- The Construction Zone blog site is written by Peter Skillen, a leading thinker and do-er in ed-tech in Ontario.
- Mrs. Wideen’s Blog – created in Blogger, filled with resources and links by Kristen Wideen. Links to an iTunes book about using Twitter in the Primary Classroom, in a series of free books by educators called One Best Thing.
- Learning in Progress is a blog created by Rola Tibsirani. This blog models how to use a side widget so readers can scan tags to make a selection.
- Mr. D’s Adventures in Teaching by Jay Dubois. Be sure to check out the About page for inspiration.
- VirtualGiff.com is a blog site by Jen Giffen filled with tips, tricks and ed tech resources. Be sure to check out her collection of sketchnotes.
